Bereavement and Loss

Losing a loved one can be one of the most overwhelming experiences in life. The grief that accompanies such a loss is deeply personal and unique to each individual, and navigating this difficult journey can often feel isolating.

As an experienced therapist, I offer compassionate, non-judgmental support to help you process your grief at your own pace. Together, we will work to understand your emotions, find ways to make sense of your loss, and integrate it into your life.

Whether you are coping with the recent death of a loved one,

experiencing anticipatory grief, or still struggling with a loss from the past,

I will guide you through the complexities of your feelings.

I provide a safe space where you can express and process your pain,

exploring the emotional impact of your loss in depth.

In our work, we may draw upon Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

to help identify and challenge any unhelpful thought patterns, such as guilt or regret,

that may complicate your grieving process.

By working through these thoughts, we aim to bring relief and allow you to focus on healing.

In addition, we may use psychodynamic therapy to explore the deeper emotional roots

of your grief and uncover any unresolved feelings or past experiences

that may influence your current grief reaction.

As part of the process, we will also incorporate key principles from Interpersonal Therapy (IPT),

specifically focusing on how the loss has affected your relationships and social connections.

Grief can often alter the way we relate to others, and IPT helps address

these changes by improving communication, strengthening support networks,

and helping you navigate role changes in the wake of loss.

Ultimately, together we will acknowledge your grief while also focusing on building the strength and resilience needed to cope

with the pain and heartbreak that comes with losing someone important to you.

Through this integrated approach, we can help you move through your grief in a way that fosters  healing, emotional growth, and the ability to reconnect with others and yourself.
